Population near the square of the railway station has soared to hundreds of thousands during the past several days. Great pressure is thus exerted on the network capacity of China Mobile Guangzhou. To ensure smooth telecommunications, China Mobile Guangzhou has started emergency measures to offer a ten-Yuan fee for each of the passengers stranded there and stationed emergency cars for smooth mobile telecommunication against the freezing weather.

Traffic near the railway station has increased over a dozen-fold more than normal.  Currently network perception is good and the call completion rate of on-the-spot testing reaches 100%, thanks to the capacity expansion of wireless network and adoption of emergency guarantee measures.

Additionally, since January 26th, China Mobile has used the maximum capacity of the terminal system 10086 to send information on delayed trains to passengers. The total number of text messages sent has reached nearly 50 million.

Apart from the 10 Yuan charge card or 10 Yuan free charge, China Mobile Guangzhou helped stranded passengers contact their families. Also, free family phone calls were provided to immigrant workers.

The Guangzhou branch of China Mobile also offered 6 large mobile phone charging machines, 400 simple facilities and 150 power strips for these passengers.
