Guangzhou plan to stop selling petrol of old national standard from next month. Instead, the local petrol stations will sell petrol of China III standard, similar to the Euro III.

On April 4, the city issued a circular to collect opinions from the public on the green fuel. And source reveals, the price of the green petrol per liter will be 0.15 RMB higher than that of the old standard ones.

According to Guangzhou Environment Protection Authority, the city has 1.82 million vehicles by the end of last year, which added much pressure to the environmental protection work.

And since Sep, 2006, the city started to promote the usage of China III standard petrol but till now only a quarter of the petrol stations provide this green product.
