No.6 Planning Scheme

The six planning schemes for Baiyun New City were unveiled and will be posted online at http://www.upo.gov.cn/ for 7 days and will be displayed for 4 days at the Public Hall of the Guangzhou New Gymnasium. The public may review details of the plan by paying a visit to the Guangzhou New Gymnasium or they may log onto the above-noted website to note their opinions and vote. The responsible authorities will integrate the features of these six schemes, research and confirm the specific development ideas and planning schemes for the region in the near future.

All six schemes position the former Baiyun Airport terminals as business and commerce areas, giving prominence to the integration of buildings and the landscapes of Baiyun Mountain in their own way and displaying the "high density" integration of commerce and nature in their business and residential planning.

The core aim for the Design Contest of Baiyun New City is to combine policy research and consultation in the implementation of Adjustment Strategies in Central Urban areas, make comparisons and argumentations among these schemes, focus on the major issues of functional deployment of the given development areas, industrial structure adjustments, ecological systems re-construction, communications reorganization, landscape controls related to city appearance, historical coherence and provision of a sound technical basis to further deepen the comprehensive scientific and regional development strategies.
