Cantonese music, Shakeng Lion dance, Huangge Kylin Dance, Cantonese Opera, Cantonese embroidery, Cantonese colorful pottery, Shawan Piaose, Guangzhou Ivory Sculpture have  been selected as Guangdong Provincial Culture Intangible Heritage, released Culture Department of Guangdong Province on March 31

A total of 78 culture heritages from 21 cities and regions in Guangdong province will awarded as Guangdong Provincial Culture Intangible Heritage after the final approval by the provincial government.

Shawan Piaose

As one of the traditional folk arts prevalent among the people in Guangzhou, Shawan Piaose has an over 100-year history.

The performance was divided into "boards". Usually, 2 to 3 children act on one board. The play was always about legends and historical stories.

Shawan Piao'se was famous for its brilliant coloring, beautiful shaping, cleverly installing, veiled content and the ingenious use of mechanics. While the Shawan Piao'se was on parade, there was a gong cupboard between every two boards, forming a dynamic effect with sound, posture and performance.
