The 8th Guangzhou Tea Culture Expo kicked off at the Guangzhou International Convention Center in Pazhou, Guangzhou of South China yesterday (November 8).

A wide range of teas are being displayed, plus other events such as categorized tea competitions, tea auctions, show of tea books and professional forum. Visitors can taste tea for free on location.
The Expo is co-sponsored by Guangzhou Municipal Government, Chinese International Tea Culture Institute and Chinese Association of Tea Professionals.
Guangzhou to push tea industry
The city government has budgeted 25 million Yuan (3.34 million USD) to renovate the Fangcun Tea Wholesale Market in Liwan District in southwestern Guangzhou. The market is the largest of its kind in China.
Guangzhou authorities plan to use the annual Canton Fair to promote international tea trade. The Liwan District Government is also pushing the Internet B-to-B operation of tea promotion, retailing and wholesaling.
Guangzhou is the largest converging and consuming city of tea in China. The Expo was launched in 1999.
