On July 27, 2005, 35 overseas Chinese youth from USA, Germany, and Japan met their counterparts from local families who will host them in the coming days. Later the foreign and local youth together paid a visit to the Guangdong Folk Arts Museum ¡V the Chen Clan Temple to enjoy the south lion dance, paper cutting and local painting, witness the process of making south lion and musical instrument such as drums, and practice painting the lion head by themselves. This tour enabled the overseas Chinese youth to have a closer look at the fascination of folk arts of Guangdong.
Later on the same night, these overseas Chinese youth entered the local families and would stay with them for 3 days to experience the real local daily life.
