China further simplifies exit procedures

Chinanews, Beijing, Sept 20 ¡V Starting from Oct 1, all Chinese citizens, including residents from the mainland, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, as well as overseas Chinese, will no longer be required to fill in the exit registration cards. The measure aims to simplify the exit procedure and smooth the passenger flow, the Ministry of Public Security said on Tuesday.

In order to improve the service quality of transportation departments and enable passengers to enjoy a convenient comfortable and safe exit or entry, the Ministry of Public Security decides to take 12 new measures starting from Oct 1. The new measures will be implemented in all the open ports.

The new measures include: all transit passengers both Chinese and foreign will no longer be required to fill in the entry and exit registration cards; passengers can vote to appraise or criticize the Customs service quality with an electronic rating device; vessels and crew members will get a guidebook to their entry to China; more check channels will be opened during the passenger check rush hour; a ¡§blue line¡¨ scheme will be implemented so that passengers might need to wait for less time in running through the checking procedure; an emergency aid channel will be introduced to help passengers who meet emergency cases; passengers who arrive late will no longer need to queue in running through the checking procedure; a consulting counter will be set up at various ports where passengers can get the latest travel information and make better judgement in their travel.
