Governor Huang Huahua met with the 8 foreign advisors and gave an account of the immense business opportunities in the Guangdong market.

Huang Huahua, Vice Secretary of the CPC Guangdong Provincial Committee and Governor of Guangdong Province, met with the foreign advisors attending the ICCFED in White Swan Hotel today. The advisors were Mme Carol Bartz, Executive Chairman of the Board of Autodesk, Inc, Mr. Toshiaki Egashira, President and CEO of Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Co., Ltd., Mr. Sergio Balbinot, CEO of Assicurazioni Generali and Generali Group, Mr. Tohru Tsuji, Chairman of Marubeni Corporation, Mr. Satoshi Aoki, Chairman of Honda Motor Co., Ltd, Mr. Etsuhiko Shoyama, Chairman of Hitachi, Ltd, Mr. Carl-Henric Svanberg, President and CEO of Ericsson and Mr. David Bonderman, Founding Partner of TPG Capital.

Mr. Huang expressed his gratitude to the advisors, who accepted the advisory job with pleasure and gave suggestions to Guangdong¡¦s economic and social development. Against the background of the development of Guangdong, the discussion between Governor Huang and his advisors focused on how to improve the innovative capacity, for instance, to combine the industrial design and manufacturing industry to realise the new industrialisation, and to promote the transformation of Guangdong¡¦s development pattern through financial innovation.

Despite the fact it is the first time for many advisors to take the job, they have already started investment and cooperation programmes in the province. It is reported that Cenerali China Life Insurance Co.,Ltd., a joint venture of Assicurazioni Generali and Generali Group has invested 340 million yuan in the province by the first half of this year. The highly innovative Autodesk, Inc. cooperated with South China University of Technology to found the Guangzhou Digital Innovation Education Centre. The company also worked with Bureau Of Urban Planning of GuangZhou Municipality to build the China Urban Digital Planning and Research Centre. Meanwhile, Marubeni Corporation with many years¡¦experience of investing in Guangdong, gradually enlarged its investment in the province. Moreover, taking its own experience of development in Guangdong as an example, it also introduced Guangdong as an investment destination to the Japanese business circle, and investors from Japan to the province.

Governor Huang congratulated the advisors on the rapid development of their companies and organisations in China. He said that Guangdong had enormous manufacturing capacity and business opportunities, and that the province always welcomed the extension of investment and cooperation from abroad, particularly the establishment of R&D centres. The advisors also seized the opportunity to present their investment and development plan in Guangdong. For example, Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Co., Ltd. was carrying out a cooperative programme with CIRC Guangdong Bureau.
