The appraisal activities for the 4th Yangcheng Friendship Awards officially concluded on March 29. Fourteen foreign experts in Guangzhou from the United States, Canada, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, France and Belgium were awarded the 4th Guangzhou Friendship Awards, Guangzhou's top official laurels for foreign talents.
The Yangcheng Friendship Award is specially established by Guangzhou Government for foreign experts working in Guangzhou, the top laurels awarded to foreign talents by Guangzhou Government. Guangzhou held three rounds of appraisals in 1996, 2001 and 2004, 32 foreign experts in total were awarded these special laurels.
With more and more foreign professionals living and working in Guangzhou, the Guangzhou Foreign Experts Bureau sponsored the appraisal activities for the 4th Yangcheng Friendship Award in 2007 to commend the outstanding contributions made by these experts in Guangzhou's economic construction and social development.
